A lot of the time I do not know what I am making and watch in awe as these pieces make themselves before me.  It requires trust that the next step will always reveal itself and that, when I am playful, new and exciting things emerge.  As soon as I get too rigid or worry about my work, it shows immediately in the piece, because in those moments I'm afraid to fail, and when I am afraid to fail, the work stops evolving.  Clay can be an incredible teacher!

 

Some of my favorite things to make juxtapose sculpture and function. I hope that my work will catalyze creativity, open mindedness, and open heartedness in all who come in contact with it.
